Spore: Divine Decay was the title I gave to my second year university project. (No relation to the Spore franchise.)
Petr is a chosen vessel of the Voice - the only being capable of communing with his societies source of divine power, the allmighty Spore - and when a miracle strands him thousands of miles away from his underground home colony, he is forced to reflect upon everything his culture has taught him.
Raphael is a child in a distant, post-apocalyptic future where the last bastions of humanity are gravely endangered by the enroaching fungal military that seeks to darken the skies and plunge the planet into eternal night. When some freak accident strands him with a zealot his own age many miles from home, they must work together to survive.
Eventually forming a friendship forged in survival, and discovering many buried relics of the lost age, they come up with a new mission together: to assassinate the mushroom pope.
